Under DesignLSM, we provided brand consultancy services for Bombay Story, to launch a modern take on the Mumbai street food scene, situated on the square of Peach Place, Wokingham.

The visual identity and compelling narrative depicts the dallawalla service in a literal way by using the tiffin boxes as the main inspiration. These are used widely in India for transporting meals made at home for their loved ones at work. The branding features directional shapes from textiles and a colour palette inspired by Indian spices, resulting in a vibrant and artisanal aesthetic with storytelling at its core.

We created a logo icon by developing and refining the concept of a traditional tiffin. This was then thoughtfully paired with customised typography for the wordmark, resulting in a complete logo.

We created a complete set of brand guidelines to ensure consistency in brand collateral across all platforms. This included guidelines for logo usage, typography, and colour palette, as well as brand assets like a unique brand pattern and various logo variations for print, digital, and social media.

We also demonstrated how the brand design can be applied to various items such as lightbox displays, menu displays, gantry signage, wayfinding signage, exterior signage, uniforms, takeaway packaging, food and beverage menu designs, business cards and stationery.

“The branding features directional shapes from textiles and a colour palette inspired by Indian spices, resulting in a vibrant and artisanal aesthetic with storytelling at its core.”
